Eldar is my most favorite army of 40k. It was going to be my first army but my IG won out in the end (army men were just to cool then).
Now Eldar are not an easy army to play. There units are expensive and you can't suffer any loses. But the Eldar do have 3 ways of getting around this.
1. Holo Fields. This is a very nifty vehicle upgrade that the Falcon, Fire Prism, and Vyper can take. It causes your opponent to role 2d6 and pick the lowest result. this has been super awesome in the past in making my opponent hate me.
Now when you only have a 1/3 chance of getting a wreck result with just one di, it's bad anoth. But having to roll 2 dice really puts things in the Eldar player.
2. Fortune. This ability allows the eldar player to re-roll any failed saves. That means re-rolls to armor, invols, cover, ect. This ability relly shines when it is aplied to a seer council (especially ones on bikes). This means that those 4+ invol saves that all warlocks and farseers have are re-rolable (affectively better than a 3+ invol) and if you give them bikes (which give them a 3+ armor save) they get a re-roll able 3+ armor.
3. Speed. The Eldar have an advantage in speed, that most other races, in 40k, don't have. This means that a Eldar vehicle (which by the all but one are at-least fast skimmers) get a 4+ cover save just for moving at-least 18inch. The Eldar jet bikes get a 3+ cover save for moving atleast 18inch.
These three advanteges are the only ones that keep the Eldar (at least mine) alive in the game. With out these, I don't think the Eldar could win a match. But Eldar being one of my most favorite (if not my most favorite) race in the 40k galaxy, I have found a way and will continue to find a way to make shure they are destroying the filthy monkie.
