A New Beginning.

There have not been very many posts lately on my blog at all. Matter fact, it has almost been a year since I touched this place. I hive just started school and it isn't easy to get posting very often at all.
I do hope to change my poor posting as of late. I am going to be making some new painting and strategy articles as you read this (All one of you). The painting is going to be a complete guide as to how I paint yellow, to how I paint a whole model.

The strategy articles are just various ways (if impracticable at times) of using certain units or comparing units side by side.

See you on the other side of the table
and may your dice not hate you too much.

Eldar

Well I am back! It has been along time since my last post. I am sorry about that school has been getting in the way and has given me little time to do much posting wise.

I saw the movie Avatar for the first time last Saturday. I thought that movie was the best movie of 2010 hands down so far (I still have to see district 9 however).
After seeing aviatar, I have been getting alot of inspiration to start working on my eldar all over again. Hopefully, I won't get bored of them this time.

Eldar.. The Glass Hammer

Eldar is my most favorite army of 40k. It was going to be my first army but my IG won out in the end (army men were just to cool then).

Now Eldar are not an easy army to play. There units are expensive and you can't suffer any loses. But the Eldar do have 3 ways of getting around this.

1. Holo Fields. This is a very nifty vehicle upgrade that the Falcon, Fire Prism, and Vyper can take. It causes your opponent to role 2d6 and pick the lowest result. this has been super awesome in the past in making my opponent hate me.

Now when you only have a 1/3 chance of getting a wreck result with just one di, it's bad anoth. But having to roll 2 dice really puts things in the Eldar player.

2. Fortune. This ability allows the eldar player to re-roll any failed saves. That means re-rolls to armor, invols, cover, ect. This ability relly shines when it is aplied to a seer council (especially ones on bikes). This means that those 4+ invol saves that all warlocks and farseers have are re-rolable (affectively better than a 3+ invol) and if you give them bikes (which give them a 3+ armor save) they get a re-roll able 3+ armor.

3. Speed. The Eldar have an advantage in speed, that most other races, in 40k, don't have. This means that a Eldar vehicle (which by the all but one are at-least fast skimmers) get a 4+ cover save just for moving at-least 18inch. The Eldar jet bikes get a 3+ cover save for moving atleast 18inch.

These three advanteges are the only ones that keep the Eldar (at least mine) alive in the game. With out these, I don't think the Eldar could win a match. But Eldar being one of my most favorite (if not my most favorite) race in the 40k galaxy, I have found a way and will continue to find a way to make shure they are destroying the filthy monkie.

Painting Blue Cloth for 40k mini's

Do you have a hard time painting the cloth on your minis? My short and simple technique can help you. once done, all the cloth on your mins will look something like this...

Your first step will be to base your model black (No need for a pic here). After that is dry, you will need to base the cloth on you model you want Hawk Turquoise.

The next step is to take some ice blue and color all the raised parts of the cloth. Don't skimp this is the color it is going to appear to be when you paint it on.

It sould look somthing like the pic on the left.

The final step is somthing you do to all cloth no matter the color. Take some white a just paint lightly on the raised areas of the cloth. It makes a big differance and softens of the cloth.

I hope this has helped you in some way (This is the first time I have ever done this). If there are any questions just leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail at BBluky@gmail.com and I will make it priority to get back to you ASAP.
